Frequently Asked Questions about Trade Show Digital Photo Printing
Q. Should I provide a proof with my file? A. Yes. Send a color proof if at all possible.
Q. How big should my files be? A. Files designed at 100% size, should be no less than 75DPI, 50% size no less than 150DPI,
and 25% size no less than 300DPI. Any resolution below these and you will start to see
bitmaping in the print, which will detract from the quality of your printed graphic.
Q. What resolution should bitmaps I send Microcrafts? A. Bitmap resolutions should be 150DPI and no more than 300DPI at full size for prints up to
24"x36" a minimum of 75DPI is required for all prints though.
Q. How should I handle fonts? A. Convert all fonts to curves, if possible. If not, supply all fonts in a seperate folder.
Q. Can you accept compreessed files? A. If you're sending your images on CD or zip disk, send all files uncompressed. If you're
sending files via ftp, they may be compressed. We prefer press ready pdf files.
Q. How should Mac files be sent electronically? A. Mac files must be "stuffed" or transferred in binhex mode (*.hqx) when sent to our ftp site or
sent as an email attachment.
Q. Should I color-seperate my images? A. No. Our output devices are composite printers.
